Youth Gardening Club

The Youth Gardening Club is an engaging summer program designed to introduce kids to the basics of biology and agriculture through hands-on learning.

Program Details

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Duration: 8 weeks (two sessions per week)

Ages: 11–18

This summer program, now in its second year, is expertly led by Linda Wolk, a specialist in agriculture.

Highlights

Biology 101 for Kids: A college-style introduction tailored for young learners.

Seed Science: Learning to differentiate seed types and exploring ancient plant varieties.

Soil Education: Understanding the concept of "Not all soil is created equal."

Virtual Exploration: A virtual trip to Hawaii to discover unique agricultural practices.

Taste Testing: Almost every session included tasting a variety of fresh foods like pickles, cucumbers, blueberries, and kale chips.

Water Education: Lessons on the importance and role of water in gardening.

The Youth Gardening Club provides an interactive and educational experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for nature and healthy living.
