2025 Contest Theme
How do you celebrate Palestine?
With its rich history, steadfast struggles, and deep cultural connections, how can you honor and celebrate Palestine from Wisconsin?
Art Contest
DEADLINE: Friday, May 9th, 2025
ELIGIBILITY: Open to all students in grades K-12
Each art piece will be judged using a point system with the following criteria:
- Connection to this year’s theme
- Creative expression (stirs emotion and is impactful)
- Originality (no copies of existing photos or art, no AI-generated images)
- Level of technical skill (developmentally appropriate)
What art forms are accepted?
2-dimensional media: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, textiles. 3-dimensional objects: ceramics, wood, paper-maché, and other sculptural media. Digital art will need to be printed to be part of the exhibit.
What are the size restrictions?
None, but the student needs to list the size of the art piece on the Google form.
How will the artwork be presented at the event?
All 2D artwork must be light enough to tape or hang on a wall, and 3D artwork must be light and stable enough to sit safely on a table.
Are artist statements required?
Artist statements are optional for all ages, but they are encouraged for students in 6th-12th grades.
Please take a photo of the art piece and submit it via the Google Form. The winning pieces will need to be dropped off in Milwaukee by the end of May.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age category will have their art on display at the event and be honored on stage.
