Islamic Resource Center
IRC Book Clubs
The Islamic Resource Center has and adult and young adult book club. Clubs vote to select reading material, giving an equal voice to everyone. Exploring ideas and a healthy dialogue enlivens the group of enthusiastic readers.
Book clubs meet once a month to discuss a chapter or two of the current selection. New members are welcome to join at any time.
For more information on book clubs contact our librarian, Jenny Wegener!
IRC Book and Gift Shop
The bookstore features a wide variety of items, including Qurans, prayer rugs, thobes, abayas and hijabs, children’s books and games, prayer beads, Arabic art, greeting cards, cookbooks and Islamic decor.
It’s a popular destination for visitors seeking gifts for their Muslim family or friends. All proceeds directly support the Milwaukee Muslim Women’s Coalition.

Summer Programs
Children's Reading and Activity Camp
The Islamic Resource Center (IRC) library offers an eight week Summer Reading and Activity Camp for elementary students K5 through 8th grade.
During the summer months we want children to explore libraries, read more books and improve language and vocabulary skills. The purpose of the summer program is to encourage reading as a hobby, while building a strong connection with the IRC library.
The program includes team-building activities, reading incentives and rewards, art projects, a scavenger hunt, and visits from Mad Science, Wehr Nature Center and the Crayola Arts workshop.
Summer “fun kits” are given to kids that attend multiple sessions. The role of the IRC librarian is to build the library collection and encourage positive associations with reading that will benefit children for the rest of their lives.
