About

The Islamic Resource Center offers books, magazines and programs for children. During the school year, programs such as “Early Learners Story Time” and “Stay and Play” offer preschool age children and their families a chance to enjoy learning opportunities and strengthen community ties.  Special events for school age children keep kids excited about the library and offer fun and faith based activities on select Saturdays.

In summer, the IRC Summer Library Program offers a wide variety of free, fun learning activities for children and encourages summer learning with an engaging reading program.  Presentations by The Milwaukee Public Museum, Mad Science, The Wehr Nature Center, and others encourage curiosity, creativity and connection to community.

We are deeply grateful to the Kolaga Family Charitable Trust and the Brewers Community Grant for their incredible generosity. Their support makes a world of difference for the children we serve, and the impact is truly immeasurable.

As Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop beautifully said, “Books are mirrors, windows, and sliding doors.” The IRC library is proud to offer resources that celebrate and reflect our children’s identities, fostering a sense of belonging and pride.
