María M. Flores (she/her) is thrilled to be a part of the team that powers the Muslim Women's Coalition (MWC) forward into a new chapter. She brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role as Operations Manager.

With almost 25 years of State service to the people of Wisconsin, from diverse support and leadership roles at the University level to Children and Families to Public Health, and nearly the same amount of time serving non-profit organizations from the volunteer level to Director level, she sees her role at the MWC as an extension of her service to people and communities.

Her commitment to social justice issues is fueled by her parents' and grandparents' involvement in the migrant workers movement, welfare and housing protests, and the fight for Latino student resources at UW-Milwaukee and the 1970 takeover of Chapman Hall. Her unwavering commitment to social justice and empowering marginalized voices fuels her dedication to the MWC's mission.

María's hobbies and pursuits are diverse and a reflection of her love of learning. Among other things, she's a life-long reader, an orchid hobbyist, and an upholsterer.

María's dream is to vacation in a quaint village in England and insert herself into a murder mystery that happens to coincide with her visit.
