Hanaa Alqam is a passionate educator and mechanical engineer residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born in Amman, Jordan, she has cultivated a distinguished academic and professional career.
Hanaa holds both a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as a B.Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering from Al-Balqa Applied University in Jordan.
Since 2021, she has been a full-time faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering Department at UWM, where she is committed to fostering student success and innovation. In addition to her role at UWM, Hanaa serves as a part-time adjunct assistant professor at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
Hanaa is deeply engaged in professional organizations, acting as an advisor for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) chapters at UWM. She also volunteers with the
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and participates in Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership, championing diversity and inclusion in engineering.
As a mother of four, Hanaa balances her professional endeavors with her family life, inspiring both her students and her children through her dedication to education and community involvement.
