Amal Jaber was born and raised in Wisconsin, and her parents immigrated to Milwaukee from Palestine in 1956. She is one of the founding families of Salam School and an active community member.

Amal earned her bachelor’s degree in Education with a minor in Computer Science from Alverno College, followed by a master’s degree in Education with a focus on reading. A Wisconsin state-certified teacher, she taught elementary and high school students at Salam School from 1992-2009.

In 2009, she accepted the position as a Title One teacher, combining her passion for teaching with her desire to support the reading development of ESL students. She continued in this role from 2009 through 2012. 

From 2012 through 2021, Amal was the business owner and administrator for Creative Explorers Learning Center, a five-star accredited early childhood center in Oak Creek, WI.

A current board member of SIHA (Striving to Improve Health for All) a grassroots organization and cross-sector collaboration of Muslim professionals striving to create a lasting impact on Muslims’ health through research, education, advocacy and community empowerment. 

Amal volunteers for Hanan Refugee Relief Group, providing housing setup and support for newly arrived refugee families. She lives in Brookfield, WI.
