Dr Hanadi BuAli
Dr Hanadi BuAli, MD, FACS is a board Certified, Fellowship-Trained breast surgeon. She currently serves as the director of the Breast Health Program for Ascension Wisconsin. She has been practicing in the field of breast surgical oncology since October 2008 and in the field of medicine in general for more than 20 years. She completed medical school as well as a general surgery residency in Bahrain. After moving to the united states, she completed her surgery residency training in Detroit, Michigan and her surgical oncology training in Akron, Ohio where she had the privilege of training with Dr Terry Mamounas.
She is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, and has been recognized as one of the 40 under 40 by the Milwaukee Business Journal as well as named one of America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumer’s Research Counsel of America for the years 2012 through 2019. She has been active in research and improvement of patient quality of care since she started in the health care field and has published numerous peer review articles and abstracts as well as presented at numerous conferences. She actively participates in community outreach programs with special attention to underserved areas.
She served on the faculty of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine as well as the Medical College of Wisconsin. She currently serves as a mentor to two other surgeons as part of the American Society of Breast Surgeons Mentorship Program.
She offers innovative surgical care adopting oncoplastic techniques. She was one of the first to attend the inaugural course of the School of Oncoplastic Surgery, is a certified hidden scar surgeon and has been recognized as part of the “Flat Friendly Surgeons Directory” at “not Putting on a Shirt”, a nonprofit organization advocating for optimal mastectomy outcomes for patients going flat.

Aishah Aslam
A board-certified cardiologist at Ascension St Joseph hospital in Milwaukee, fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Medical training and undergraduate degrees from Michigan State University and University of Michigan. She has performed medical mission work in refugee camps in Lesvos, Greece and Cox’s Bazaar, Bangladesh and has a keen interest in global humanitarian relief efforts as well as healthcare accessibility here in America. She also has a passion for Muslim community development with a focus on youth and convert programming and mental health.

Dima Adl identifies herself first as a Muslim woman. She is the mother to Basma and Sama and a pulmonary, critical care, and sleep physician with Madison Medical Affiliates/ Ascension of Milwaukee. Dima was born in Aleppo, Syria and moved to the US as a teenager. She moved to Milwaukee in 2006 when she became a devoted supporter of the MMWC and later a board member. Her goal is to build a better future for the Muslim community in America by focusing on the youth. She loves travel and all things chocolate.

Ream Bahhur
Ream graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering from Birzeit University (Palestine) and also holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch.

Soniya Yunus is an attorney with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. Soniya is a proud alumna of Marquette University, where she received a degree in journalism, and the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Soniya is a proud alumna of Marquette University, where she received a degree in journalism, and the University of Wisconsin Law School. After completing law school, Soniya returned to her hometown of Milwaukee, where she began a career with the State of Wisconsin. Soniya is a strong advocate for civic engagement, advocacy through knowledge, and social justice.

Sausan Naji was born and raised in California and currently lives in Wisconsin. Sausan holds Associate of Arts in Banking and Financial Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College.

Sausan Naji was born and raised in California and currently lives in Wisconsin. Sausan holds Associate of Arts in Banking and Financial Services from Milwaukee Area Technical College. Sausan also holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources and a Master of Arts in Human Resources and focus on Leadership Management from University of Ottawa.
Sausan is a Human Resources Consultant with 10 years of experience. Her passion is providing HR solutions for her clients by helping them build their HR infrastructure through technology, compliance and people. Sausan also enjoys consulting with early stage ventures and non-profit organizations. Her areas of expertise include compliance and best practices, HR infrastructure, talent development, management coaching, process improvement, HRIS implementation, mergers and acquisitions, group reductions in force. and policy and procedure development.
Sausan is currently on the board of Milwaukee Muslim Women’s Coalition, MMWC and Hanan Refugee Relief Group, HRRG. She also serves on the Hanan Refugee Relief Group Milwaukee Chapter committee.
Sausan is married with four children. She enjoys mentoring up-and-coming HR professionals where she shares her knowledge and passion for HR. Sausan enjoys spending time with her family, reading, volunteering, mentoring youth and event decor/planning.

Isabelle Sahraoui
Isabelle Degermanjian Sahrouni is originally from Milwaukee, her father’s hometown, but has roamed the world throughout her life following her expatriate parents. She was born in Jaffa, Palestine and lived her early years in Tehran, Iran.

Isabelle Degermanjian Sahrouni is originally from Milwaukee, her father’s hometown, but has roamed the world throughout her life following her expatriate parents. She was born in Jaffa, Palestine and lived her early years in Tehran, Iran. She graduated from American University of Paris with BSc in Art history and went on to do a Masters in International NGO in Paris, France that was active in the training and integration of African illegal immigrants. She had prior to that other NGO commitments in Senegal expatriate life first in Bahrain then in the United Arab Emirates (6 years each) and finally in Tunisia for 12 years. During those years and other than teaching at the American Mission School in Bahrain and at the American University of Sharjah in the UAE, she was involved in many community activities and projects always dealing with marginal communities and the underprivileged. Back in Milwaukee in 2018, where she relocated with her family, she quickly connected with the Milwaukee Muslim Women’s Coalition to continue her engagement with international immigrant communities. Isabelle has a passion working with underprivileged communities as well as interfaith dialogue.

Fetiha Teyeb

Fetiha Teyeb was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information System (MIS) from Africa Beza College in Ethiopia. She worked as a Leadership Manager at Auto Part company for eight years.Fetiha graduated from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in Information Since and Technology. Currently, she is working at MMWC as an IT support.

Safiya Schaub
Safiya Schaub is a junior at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee majoring in Public Health. Safiya is a Salam School graduate and coaches their middle school girls' basketball team in her free time. Safiya has been involved with the MMWC for many years as she use to volunteer when she was in middle and high school. Through working with the MMWC she wishes to give back to the community.

Cherrie hanson

Cherrie Hanson is the Special Projects Manager at the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition. She is also the Program Director at Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee, a 52 year old nonprofit organization consisting of 22 member faiths and denominations. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a focus on Women’s Studies.

Marlene Zahran is an avid community organizer and coordinator for underserved communities. She has worked on health education campaigns and COVID-19 projects since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. She has a Bachelors in Microbiology, and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She has worked with the refugee community for many years and has a passion for health and creating community change through a social justice and Public Health lens.

Basema Yasin
Basema is the Coordinator & Advocate of Our Peaceful Home, a project of the MMWC. Basema is a proud graduate of the MPS system where she then went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Marquette University. She was a high school English teacher for over a decade and then taught for a few years at Salam School. Basema went on to earn her Masters in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University and became a high school build administrator. Basema's passion lies in advocacy through education and she feels fortunate to be serving our diverse Muslim community.

Anisa Schaub
Anisa is an advocate for Our Peaceful Home, a project of the MMWC. Anisa was born in Indonesia where she graduated from Bandung College STBA with bachelors in English as a Second Language. She has been living in the US for over two decades and is the proud mother of four children. Anisa worked at the Islamic Society of Milwaukee and Guidance Academy. Her passion lies in helping people to empower themselves and feels that a strong sense of self and faith are the basis for all success.

Rawand Yazaw
Rawand Yazaw is doing her graduate work at UWM in Systems Change and Center for Peacebuilding. Rawand is from Jordan and has experience working with youth, both as a teacher and with NGOs that worked with refugees. Currently she is formally working with MMWC part time for the next two years.

I’m a lifestyle, event photographer and a business owner. For over 13 years, I’ve depicted people’s stories as they start, finish, or continue different phases of their lives through exuberant and exhilarating photos to help them save the memories within. In addition to being the trusted photographer for local couples, families, and individuals, I’m also passionate about helping business owners define and promote their businesses to higher levels. I earned an associates degree in Applied Science of Photography from MATC, and I have a background in psychology from the University of Damascus. I have joined the MMWC team in 2018. I’ve been featured in The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Knot, and Zola .

Sandra Whitehead is an author, educator, and nationally award-winning journalist. She teaches journalism and media studies at Marquette University, where she is a Center for Peacemaking Faculty Scholar and is developing internationally collaborative online journalism education.

Sandra taught in Lebanon from 2009-2016 at Rafik Hariri University, where she was chair of the Language and Humanities Department. She was senior editor and continues to serve as the senior editorial consultant to HOME Magazine Lebanon.
She is blessed with a loving family – her husband Abdulaziz Aleiou and three children, Ali, Aisha, and Adam.
